The first sighting of Trilliums and Lady Slippers are a sure sign that Storyland is about to open. It seems that everyone has been busy all spring preparing for happy kids and parents. The snow has melted off most of the peaks and the rivers have started to recede and warm up.

Every Sunday there is an Outdoor Band Concert in Schouler Park while Tuesday is the Fun Run in Whitaker Woods. Wednesday and Saturday are the Group Bike Ride lead by Red Jersey Cyclery. Wednesday evening is the Ranger Talk at AMC in Pinkham Notch. On Fridays is the Painters' Group that travel to a different locale each week. AMC does guided hikes, seminars, workshops and talks several days a week on a variety of subjects.

There is something for all the family here. Other attractions include Heritage NH, Conway Scenic Railroad Attitash Activity Center, Cranmore summer camps and the incredible Auto Road up 6,288 Ft up the magnificent Mount Washington. Nearby are also Santa's Village, Six Gun City, Clark's Trading Post and the Hartmann Railroads. Fall foliage is legendary around here as are the many local covered bridges and Kancamagus Highway while North Conway is famed for its Tax Free outlet shopping where a huge variety of Brand Name shops sell at Factory Outlet prices.

Attitash Bear Peak Mountain offers all year round activity. Having recently invested $36 million in expansion Attitash offers the largest ski location in the area. For the rest of the year there are the Alpine water slides, Horseback rides along the Saco River, scenic lifts to the top of the mountains with hiking and mountain biking back down! Weekly activities at Attitash include the Equine week, Vintage Car Rally's, Sports events, Harley Davidson Rally Hot Air ballooning, and there is even an Octoberfest!
