skating skiers are out in shorts and T-shirts at Great
Gulf, Bear Notch, Jackson Ski Touring, Intervale Ski
Touring and Bretton Woods, getting a start on their
summer tans. |

This
is a great time to start those early season hikes;
no bugs and cool weather make for pleasant days.
The trails are nearly empty with the occasional patch
of snow and mud, and the chance of seeing animals
is high. There is a haze of red and green on the
hills as the trees start to put forth their summer
foliage.

The
only trail that is crowded is the Tuckerman Ravine
Trail with hikers carrying their skis up to the bowlIt's
a great place to spend a day or night.
